Echter Nordhäuser Traditionsbrennerei Expands Its “Meisterstück” Line with a 10-Year-Old Premium Kornbrand

In 2020, the “Meisterstück” premium line was introduced at Echter Nordhäuser Traditionsbrennerei—the home of Echter Nordhäuser. A prerequisite for this line is aging in selected wooden barrels for at least ten years. Since demand for “Meisterstück” products is very high and they have sold out quickly in the past, the successful range will be expanded in the spring to include a 10-year-old rye grain brandy line. The Grain Brandy Edition No. 1, with a limited run of approximately 1,150 bottles, is available since March 26, 2026.
10 years—that is how long the new “Meisterstück” Rye Kornbrand No. 1 from the Echter Nordhäuser Traditionsbrennerei in Nordhausen matured in oak, developing its very own, incomparably rye-forward and rounded character. This masterpiece received its finish over 5 months in selected chestnut wood barrels. These provide a complex variety of aromas both on the nose and on the palate: nuances of vanilla, nutmeg, chocolate, toffee, and fruity notes give this Kornbrand a complex, sweet, full-bodied flavor profile. In the glass, the “Meisterstück” presents itself in warm amber hues. An all-around exceptional rye grain brandy at 45% ABV that rightly bears the name “Meisterstück” and expands the “Meisterstück” whiskey range with a new line of 10-year-aged grain brandies.
Expertise since 1507 – masterfully executed
1507 marks the year of the first documented mention of the Nordhausen distilling tradition. Since then, these exclusive regional spirits have delighted connoisseurs with their unique taste experience. Thanks to this expertise—and the time the master distillers allow their spirits to mature—the finest grain and whiskey distillates are created here. Through barrel aging and interaction with the wood, the spirits become rounder and milder in flavor day by day, acquiring their unique character and distinctive color.
This is also demonstrated by the new “Meisterstück” with its special flavor profile. “We are very proud of the first 10-year-old rye grain brandy from the Meisterstück line,” says Thomas Müller, head of the traditional distillery in Nordhausen. “The finish in the chestnut barrel is precisely what has created the special nuances that make its flavor so unique.” Only approximately 1,150 bottles in the iconic glass bottle are available to connoisseurs of the finest premium spirits since March 26, 2026. Each bottle is bottled, corked, labeled with love and care, hand-numbered, and adorned with an elegant tag at the Echter Nordhäuser Traditionsbrennerei’s artisanal workshop. A truly unique piece and an attractive centerpiece for any home bar, it also makes an ideal gift not only for Easter but also for other celebrations such as birthdays and anniversaries.
