König Pilsener and Sinalco are launching their first joint product, “Kumpel Mische.” The beer mix drink, with an alcohol content of 2.5 percent, contains equal parts König Pilsener and Sinalco Cola-Orange Mix. “This first collaboration between two beverage companies from the same city is something very special to us,” explains Dr. Anno Zilkens, managing director of the König Brewery. “We are proud to be breaking new ground together with another Duisburg-based company.”
Heino Hövelmann, managing director of Sinalco, is also delighted: “The ‘Kumpel Mische’ embodies what makes our region special: rolling up our sleeves, sticking together, and just getting things done. Our Sinalco Cola-Orange Mix offers the perfect balance of cola and orange soda—and when combined with König Pilsener, it creates a blend that captures this very ‘Kumpel’ spirit in a can.”
The “Kumpel Mische” impresses with the fruity freshness of Sinalco Cola-Orange Mix and the subtly bitter notes of König Pilsener. The new beer mix drink is now available as a limited-edition special release in a 0.33-liter can at Edeka Rhein-Ruhr and in many trinkgut stores, primarily in the Ruhr region and the Rhineland—while supplies last. With “Kumpel Mische,” König Pilsener is continuing its product offensive in the beer-mixer segment. The new König Pilsener Radler was launched in 2025, followed a few weeks ago by a non-alcoholic Radler.
Partnership Between Neighbors
König Pilsener and Sinalco are located just a few kilometers apart as the crow flies in northern Duisburg. The two companies are connected not only by their proximity but also by their long history as medium-sized family-owned businesses.
“Kumpel Mische” is thus another significant project for the König Brewery in collaboration with a partner from the immediate neighborhood. Since 2024, industrial waste heat from thyssenkrupp Steel’s steel production has been flowing into the König Brewery, where it provides thermal energy for the brewing processes. As a result, the brewery reduces its annual CO2 emissions by up to 75 percent. All beer production processes that require energy in the form of heat are thus emission-free.
