CANPACK, part of the CANPACK Group and a leading manufacturer of aluminum beverage cans, continues its global expansion and is launching a new investment in the Czech Republic.

The company is investing in an aluminum beverage can factory in the town of Stříbřo – in the region of Pilsen, western Czech Republic – with a production line that will serve the production capacity of Plzeňský Prazdroj, a prominent Czech brewery and a member of the Asahi Group, as well as other clients in the region. This new investment will increase the overall aluminum beverage can production capacity of the company, bringing it to around 25 billion cans per year.

Former Logoplaste CEO and Smurfit Kappa CEO of Europe to lead CANPACK Group

Giorgi Global Holdings, Inc. and the CANPACK Group are pleased to announce the appointment of Roberto Villaquiran as Chief Executive Officer of the CANPACK Group and President of the Management Board of Can-Pack S.A.

Prior to joining CANPACK, Roberto served as CEO of Logoplaste, a global packaging manufacturer headquartered in Portugal and majority owned by the Carlyle Group. Roberto was instrumental in implementing a new management structure at Logoplaste, focusing the organization on operational excellence, building a strong world-class team, and creating a sustainable platform for future growth. Prior to joining Logoplaste, Roberto spent 30 years in multiple roles at Smurfit Kappa Group, a Dublin, Ireland headquartered FTSE 100 company and one of the leading providers of paper-based packaging in the world with operations in over 30 countries. Roberto’s last role at Smurfit Kappa was as CEO of Europe.

Grand opening of the new CANPACK beverage cans factory in the Netherlands  (Company news)

On November 3, 2017 the grand opening of a new investment by CANPACK Group in the Netherlands – a beverage can factory in Helmond – was celebrated.

The grand opening ceremony was honored by the presence of the Ministry, Chief of the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland – Mrs Halina Szymańska, who read a letter on behalf of the President Mr. Andrzej Duda and representatives of the Dutch authorities – Mr. Ernst Noorman, Director International Programs, Netherlands Enterprise Agency and Mr. Bert Pauli, Vice-governor of the province of Noord-Brabant. In addition to the owner of Giorgi Global Holdings, Inc., Mr. Peter Giorgi, and the CANPACK Group management we had the honor to host as invited guests CANPACK Group customers, local government authorities, supporting financial institutions, contractors, suppliers of machinery and equipment and suppliers of raw materials.

The aluminum beverage can factory in Helmond is an investment of over 100 mln Euro. The production facility and the factory warehouse with a total area of 40,000 m2 are equipped with two production lines with annual production capacity of 2 billion cans in various sizes. The factory in Helmond is the biggest Polish production investment in the Netherlands. It is considered in the industry as one of the most energy efficient and most technologically advanced plants in the world. The company will produce beverage packaging for customers in the Benelux, Germany and France and will significantly increase employment in the province of Noord-Brabant, the Netherlands.

Another investment of CAN-PACK S.A.  (Company news)

The Managing Board of Can-Pack S.A. decided to set up a production branch in Finland to start a local production of beverage cans to meet the growing needs of customers in Finland and the Baltic countries and to reduce high transport costs incurred by them.
Under this project, with the cost of almost EUR 100 MM, a modern and environmentally-friendly factory of aluminum beverage cans 33 cl and 50 cl will be built, with an annual capacity of 1.8 billion cans. In the first stage scheduled for completion in late 2011 and 2012, a production line with the capacity of 900 million cans a year will be installed.
The factory will be located in the town of Hämeenlinna, about 100 km north of Helsinki on the land acquired from the local authorities of Hämeenlinna municipality. The investment will provide approximately 150 new jobs directly at the factory and almost the same under cooperation of local suppliers and carriers.
In parallel with the construction of the factory, Can-Pack Group will actively participate in the recycling of used cans (UBC) as it is in the other countries where the Group has its own factories. (Can-Pack S.A.)
