After the small ray of hope in October 2023, the downward trend continues. With a drop of 8.6 per cent in total beer sales in November 2023, the accumulated losses totalled almost 3.5 million hectolitres. Compared to 2019, the year before the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, beer sales are now down 7.4 million hectolitres.

Total beer sales have fallen in all federal states, in some cases significantly. With a drop of just 2.2 per cent, Saxony is still a positive example in these statistics. Baden-Württemberg is in second place with a loss of 3.7 per cent. Hesse currently brings up the rear with a negative change of 15.9 per cent compared to October 2023.
