A new community-minded brewery is now open in Kelowna’s brewery district, the Canadian Beer News reported on August 12.

Railside Brewing has been founded by long-time friends and homebrewers Rob Leinemann and Matt Grieve, and is located in a building owned by Leinemann’s family along the Okanagan Rail Trail.

Open to the public since last Friday August 5th, Railside has eight beers pouring to enjoy in the brewery tasting room and on the pet-friendly patio. Light snacks including chips and salsa, pepperoni, and hummus are available in the tasting room, and food trucks are on hand at select times to serve more substantial meals.

In an interview with Castanet, the owners noted that they have a permit that will allow them to host up to ten special events a year on the parking lot adjacent to the brewery, and they intend to hold several fundraising events for the Rail Trail each year.

Railside Brewing is located at 1186 High Road in Kelowna, and is open daily with the exception of Monday.
