Chinese Tsingtao beer with "special addition"

According to the Korean customs authority, the volume of beer imports from China fell by 43% in October compared to the previous year and the value of beer purchases from the neighbouring country fell by 38%.

The reason is a video released on 19 October 2023 showing a uniformed man climbing over a high wall and urinating into a Tsingtao brewery tank.

Tsingtao announced that the malt mixture could no longer be used and BK, which imports Tsingtao beer for distribution in Korea, stated that the plant shown in the video only produces beer for local consumption in the Chinese market.

However, the incident has raised concerns among consumers about the safety of Chinese food and beverages.

Probably for this reason, beer imports from Japan rose enormously.
