Both new releases highlight the distillery's craft and mark the beginning of a series of annual limited editions that will mark the company's 90th anniversary in 2024. Central to the first two whiskies in this series is the play with the smoke profiles of the two different NIKKA distilleries. Both whiskies offer a glimpse behind the scenes of the Japanese whisky producer, which is constantly experimenting with new flavour profiles.

SINGLE MALT YOICHI NON-PEATED
The typical single malt whisky from the Yoichi distillery has a peaty, smoky and salty character that is unmistakably reminiscent of Scotch whiskies from the Isle of Islay. The cold, harsh weather in Yoichi provides the ideal conditions for a traditional Scottish-style distillery. The peat bogs located there and the sea breeze shape the incomparable character of the whisky. The Yoichi Single Malt Non-Peated now shows itself without peat notes and thus opens up a balanced and equally surprising freshness and fruitiness, which are underpinned by a subtle smoky note from the charcoal-fired stills. The alcohol content of the Yoichi Single Malt Non-Peated is 47% by volume. It is bottled without cold filtration to preserve the fullness of aromas.

SINGLE MALT MIYAGIKYO PEATED
With rolling hills, peaceful forests and exceptionally clear water, the Miyagikyo distillery's location provides the ideal conditions for a pure whisky with an elegant, fresh and fruity character. The Single Malt Miyagikyo Peated is a remarkable whisky that shows itself with a nuanced peat note. The taste bouquet is well-balanced and permeated by a lush abundance of fruit notes as well as an intense minerality. These are joined by balanced smoky notes. The alcohol content of the single malt Miyagikyo Peated is 48% by volume. It is bottled without cold filtration to preserve the fullness of aroma.
