Miracle in Italy: Red Wine Flows Instead of Water from Taps

In the northern Italian town of Castelvetro di Modena in the Emilia-Romagna region, residents were astonished when suddenly red wine flowed from their taps instead of water. However, the reason for this unusual phenomenon was not a miracle, but a technical defect at a local winery.

Technical Malfunction at Winery

Due to an error in the valve of the washing circuit of the bottling plant, Lambrusco Grasparossa, a regional red wine, entered the water pipes of some houses in the district of Settecani. The Cantina Settevetro winery immediately apologized for the incident and emphasized that at no time was there any risk to hygiene or health, as the wine was already ready for bottling.

Affected Residents Take It in Stride

The problem was resolved on the same day. The affected residents took the malfunction with humor. Some are said to have even bottled the red wine unexpectedly gushing from their taps as a reserve before regular tap water flowed again. In total, the "red wine blessing" lasted a few hours.
