The RhönSprudel Group is once again focusing on sustainability and intensifying its efforts to reduce CO2 emissions in logistics. On November 25, 2025, a fully electric Mercedes-Benz Actros e600 was ceremoniously handed over at RhönSprudel's headquarters in Ebersburg-Weyhers. This innovative electric truck, supplied by the Kunzmann car dealership, is now part of the group's fleet and will actively contribute to reducing emissions and noise pollution. With a range of over 500 kilometers, the new electric truck will deliver around 15,000 bottles of RhönSprudel products to customers every day. “For us, sustainability is not just a trend, but a responsibility we live by. With the fully electric truck, we are taking the next big step toward climate-friendly logistics,” explains Frank Baier, Head of External Logistics at RhönSprudel. “The Mercedes-Benz Actros e600 is a significant milestone on our journey to make our transport processes even more environmentally friendly and economical.”

Focus on environmental friendliness and efficiency
The new truck complements RhönSprudel's existing fleet, which already includes three plug-in hybrid trucks (PHEVs) from Scania. The new fully electric vehicle not only offers the advantage of CO2 reduction, but also improves air quality in the region thanks to zero emissions during operation. In addition, its virtually silent operation means less noise pollution – a benefit for drivers, customers, and residents alike. Thanks to RhönSprudel's fast charging technology, the e-truck's charging times can be kept short. The company mainly uses green electricity from renewable energies for charging, further reducing its CO2 footprint. “The Actros e600 from Daimler Truck is a prime example of innovative electric mobility in the truck segment,” says Sascha Stößel, Managing Director of Overall Sales at Autohaus Kunzmann. “With its 621 kWh battery, fast charging capability, and long range, the electric truck is a sustainable and efficient solution for companies that want to improve their carbon footprint while optimizing their transport processes.”

Progress through innovation
“With the integration of the Actros e600 into our fleet, we are proud to be the first company in the region to use a fully electric long-distance truck in this performance class. The move toward a fully electric future is an essential part of our long-term strategy for sustainable and economically efficient logistics,” explains Helmut Tautelhahn, Commercial Director of the RhönSprudel Group. However, this progress in electromobility is only one component of the RhönSprudel Group's comprehensive sustainability approach, as outlined in its 2024 Sustainability Report. “We are committed to a holistic strategy that, in addition to reducing CO2 emissions in logistics, also encompasses other important areas such as resource conservation, energy efficiency, and the protection of biodiversity,” Tautelhahn continues.

Sustainability in logistics
The new electric truck is another step toward environmentally friendly logistics: 18 percent of the company's truck fleet is already partially or fully electrified. The company has a clear goal of further reducing the environmental impact per unit transported while increasing efficiency. “Our mission remains clear: we want to achieve the highest delivery quality while reducing emissions – for a sustainable future and a clear conscience for every product transported,” Tautelhahn continues. With this step, RhönSprudel is once again sending a strong signal for a more environmentally friendly future and proving that sustainable logistics can be ecologically and economically successful.
