The trend towards declining fruit juice consumption, which has been ongoing for years, continued in 2024.
The continued rise in consumer prices, which averaged around 2.2% higher in 2024 than in 2023, had a noticeable impact on consumer purchasing behavior, according to the latest study conducted by the Gesellschaft für Verpackungsmarktforschung GVM on behalf of the Association of the German Fruit Juice Industry.
It is striking that large reusable glass bottles are showing significant declines, while the filling sizes up to 330 ml achieved high growth. In the non-returnable segment, filling in beverage cartons increased by almost 4%.
