Teeling Whiskey unveils Riesling Grand Cru Cask, the third bottling in its series of limited-edition whiskeys in collaboration with the Reichsrat von Buhl winery

One of the leading Irish whiskey distilleries Teeling Whiskey and the renowned winery Reichsrat von Buhl are continuing their successful partnership with the launch of the whiskey exclusive "Riesling Grand Cru Cask", limited to 3,000 bottles. This is the third time that the two family-owned companies have cooperated to create a whiskey that bridges the gap between Irish and German culinary culture. With its unconventional cask finishes, the distillery, which is based in the heart of Dublin, continues the centuries-old Irish whiskey art and gives groundbreaking impetus to the up-and-coming Irish whiskey category.

For the distillery's innovation, Teeling's flagship Teeling Small Batch Whiskey is finished in Reichsrat von Buhl's finest hand-selected Grand Cru Riesling casks for 18 months. Teeling Small Batch Whiskey is a blend of 80 percent grain whiskey and 20 percent malt whiskey.

The novelty was ceremoniously presented last Thursday, 02 September 2021 at the picturesque Reichsrat von Buhl winery in Deidesheim, Palatinate, in the presence of invited whiskey and wine connoisseurs. In addition to the new Teeling Whiskey, guests had the exclusive opportunity to get to know the winery and the 2019 VDP Grosse Gewächse during tastings and cellar tours.

Jack Teeling, who founded and runs the Teeling Whiskey Company with his brother Stephen, is proud of the collaboration with Reichsrat von Buhl: "We are always looking to drive the development of Irish whiskey by creating new and unique bottlings. We are particularly proud to work with other like-minded masters of their craft to help us achieve this. We are honored to continue our partnership with Reichsrat von Buhl with the third bottling in our series of Teeling Whiskeys finished in German wine casks. This limited-edition Teeling whiskey has a remarkable depth of flavor, with fresh, light fruit notes of melon and pineapple mingling with nectarine and honey, and a dry minerality typical of Reichsrat von Buhl's flagship Riesling Grand Cru. The result is an exciting taste that combines the best of Irish whiskey and German Riesling."

Dennis Geller, winery director at Reichsrat von Buhl, added, "We are proud to continue our partnership with Teeling Whiskey and present the third bottling of an Irish whiskey with a German wine finish. At Reichsrat von Buhl, we take particular pride in our craft of balancing the subtle flavors of our wood barrels with the subtle nuances of the aromas of our terroirs. In this sense, Reichsrat von Buhl and Teeling are a perfect match. Both companies are always in search of finesse, elegance and depth. I am proud to continue on this path together, creating flavor profiles that surprise and delight."

Teeling Riesling Grand Cru Cask will be offered by the Hanseatic family-owned company BORCO-MARKEN-IMPORT, while stocks last, in selected German retail and specialty stores, online retailers and premium department stores for an RRP of 44.99 euros (0.7l).
