USA, TX: Thirsty Pups Brewery & Bottle Shop slated to open in Castle Hills later this year

San Antonio is home to a number of great breweries that are concocting award-winning beers, including Roadmap Brewing Co., Freetail Brewing Co., and Küenstler Brewing. Now, Castle Hills is getting in on the fun, with a craft brewery and taproom slated to land in the enclave city later this year, mySA reported on June 12.

Thirsty Pups Brewery & Bottle Shop is a new microbrewery coming soon to Castle Hills, landing in the same strip of businesses as Sushishima Japanese Restaurant and European Dumplings Cafe. Thirsty Pups is co-owned by Audra Perkins and brewer Erik Ureta, according to a news report by What Now San Antonio. Ureta has previously worked at Second Pitch Beer Co. and Alamo Beer Company.

The new craft brewery is expected to brew about six to eight house beers from the get-go, with established Texas craft beers from other brewers filling out the rest of the taps. Though many independent breweries in San Antonio also serve a menu of food along with their brews, Thirsty Pups will focus solely on providing beverages, according to the report.

While an opening date hasn't been set in stone just yet, the window for when we can expect Thirsty Pups to start serving is between August and October. Until then, you can visit a number of excellent beer gardens and breweries scattered around the Alamo City.
