Following closure of production in St-Prex: Vetropack also discontinues cullet processing

The Swiss Vetropack Group will discontinue its cullet processing at the St-Prex site at the end of February 2026.

The container glass manufacturer announced this in November. Following the closure of glass production at the Swiss site last year, cullet processing was continued as a temporary solution for around 30 municipal partners in the region.

For Vetropack, the discontinuation of waste glass processing is the final step in closing the site on Lake Geneva. Without directly connected glass production, continuing to operate the plant is neither economically nor ecologically viable in the long term, according to the company.
