The “VILSA NIX-PACK” is in the final round of the 18th German Sustainability Award in the “Products” category

The German Sustainability Award Products is presented in five categories. In the “Resources” transformation field, the VILSA NIX-PACK is one of the most groundbreaking German product sustainability innovations of the year across all industries.

Technological innovation: The VILSA NIX-PACK
With the introduction of the VILSA NIX-PACK, the company is reinventing the classic six-pack. This makes VILSA the first German mineral water producer to completely replace conventional shrink wrap with adhesive dots, taking a significant step toward a more environmentally friendly and resource-efficient packaging solution. With the introduction of the new packaging, VILSA is significantly reducing its plastic consumption: the company is saving approximately 2,000 kilometers of shrink wrap per year, with total plastic savings amounting to over 50 tons annually.

With this innovative technology, the bottles in the disposable six-packs are no longer held together by plastic film, but by strong adhesive dots. VILSA has replaced the previous plastic carrying handle with a handle made of recyclable cardboard. The combination of adhesive dots and cardboard carrier makes the VILSA NIX-PACK the most sustainable solution for VILSA rPET disposable bottles. All disposable bottles for VILSA products are made from recycled PET.
