Bears break into cabin and drink more than 100 cans of beer

A brown bear and her cubs broke into a holiday cabin in Norway and drank more than 100 cans of beer.

Bear droppings, footprints and a bad smell pointed directly to the perpetrators.

Even Borthen Nilsen the owner of the 26 square metre cabin, said that his mother and grandmother had discovered the devastation in the cabin. "The entire hut was destroyed. The beds and all the kitchen utensils, the cooker, the oven, the cupboards and the shelves were smashed.

He explained that over 100 cans of Norwegian beer stored in the cabin in preparation for the autumn hunting season had been emptied. "They just bit into the cans and drank the beer."

The all-nighter also saw the bears devour the stash of marshmallows, chocolate spread and honey.

Now that the mother bear has shown her cubs how to get into the cabin and they have developed a taste for the beer, Even Borthen Nilsen fears the bear family may return.
