Echovai bottle from Vetropack wins WorldStar Award: Prize received in Bangkok

On 15 June, Vetropack was honoured with the coveted “WorldStar Award” for its Echovai bottle – the first returnable bottle made of tempered lightweight glass. Echovai was among the winners in the "Packaging Material & Components" category. The WorldStar Award Ceremony took place in Bangkok, Thailand, during ProPak Asia, the region’s number one international trade event for food, drink and packaging technology.
The use of Echovai technology achieves a weight saving of around 30 percent for glass containers compared to standard glass bottles while also offering greater robustness and less scuffing. In Austria, 0.33 litre Echovai returnable bottles were introduced this year as an environmentally friendly standard solution for the local brewing industry.
Receiving this award reaffirms our commitment to sustainable glass packaging solutions. Many of our colleagues, notably the team at the Innovation Centre in Pöchlarn, Austria, have spent years developing the technology that is Echovai today.
