The growth course is based on a strong foundation. Popular worldwide as a wheat beer specialist, the company has also played a decisive role in shaping the light beer trend of recent years, not least through the highly successful market entry of Chiemseer and the successful relaunch of Paulaner Hell. The boom of the cult drink Paulaner Spezi is a success story without equal in the German beverage market. The Kulmbacher brewery, in turn, has established itself as the market leader in the swing-top range with Mönchshof. And although the Paulaner Group consistently withdrew from Russia as a result of the war of aggression against Ukraine, thus giving up one of its top export markets, it was subsequently able to compensate for the loss through growth in its other global markets and keep international sales stable. Now the next stage of success is to be ignited.

The shareholders of the Paulaner Brewery Group, the Schörghuber Group and Heineken, are convinced of their new CEO. "We are delighted to have found in Jörg Biebernick an outstanding leader and an internationally experienced expert in Fast Moving Consumer Goods. In the course of his top managerial life, he has repeatedly shown that he can lead large organisations, motivate people and make strong brands even stronger," says Nico Nusmeier, Chairman of the Shareholder Committee of Paulaner Brauerei Group.

The new CEO Jörg Biebernick emphasises: "To energetically tackle the ambitious growth targets with the well over two thousand, highly motivated colleagues in the Paulaner Brewery Group is a delightful challenge. The group's strong brands have enormous charisma, and I am sure that we will continue to expand their success both in Germany and on the international markets."

The shareholders express their express thanks to the outgoing CEO: "Dr Jörg Lehmann came to the group in 2018 at a time when the main task was to precisely arrange the demanding production and logistics processes at the new brewery site in Munich-Langwied. The fact that we have successfully mastered not only these challenges but also the crises caused by the pandemic, energy and raw material costs and the Ukraine war is due in no small part to him. He has safely guided the company through these difficult times and stands for the high quality of the beer of the Group", says Nico Nusmeier.
