NATIONAL ORANGE JUICE DAY

May 4, National Orange Juice Day, celebrates America's favorite breakfast beverage. Orange juice also has a big lead over apple juice, which comes in second. People have been waking up to a glass of orange juice for many years and enjoying the health benefits it provides.

An 8-ounce serving of orange juice contains 124 mg of vitamin C and also provides potassium, thiamine and folic acid. That little bit of sunshine in the morning can liven up your day. Get your orange juice freshly squeezed, bottled or in concentrated form in the frozen section. You can also enjoy orange juice blends for delicious combinations.

The United States produces the most orange juice after Brazil and consumes the most after Canada.

If you watch your sugar intake, orange juice is also a great ingredient to add to a recipe. Orange juice adds great flavor to smoothies, whole wheat waffles or French toast.
