Rotbäckchen has been a brand trusted by mothers and families for almost seven decades. In order to accompany women who want to have children right from the start, the Mama range is now being expanded: from September with Rotbäckchen Mama Folic Acid+.

Rotbäckchen Mama Folsäure+ is a dietary supplement designed to provide a good supply of folic acid and iodine for women who wish to have children and during early pregnancy. Based on high-quality direct juices from apples, white grapes, pineapple, oranges and passion fruit combined with banana and mango pulp, Rotbäckchen Mama Folic Acid+ offers a sensible supplement to a balanced diet based on natural ingredients with the fortified nutrients folic acid and iodine.

The DGE - Deutsche Gesellschaft für Ernährung e.V. - recommends taking 400 μg of synthetic folic acid per day or equivalent doses of other folates in the form of a preparation in addition to a folate-rich diet. Supplemental intake of folic acid increases folate levels in pregnant women. A low folate level in pregnant women is a risk factor for the development of neural tube defects in the growing fetus. For iodine, in addition to a balanced diet, supplementation with a daily 100 (to 150) μg iodine supplement is recommended. The development of the new Rotbäckchen Mama product was therefore strictly based on the recommendation of the "Healthy into Life" network. The network is part of the national action plan "In Form" and provides uniform recommendations for action before and during pregnancy as well as advice for young families.
