SPEZI, the epitome of cola-mix drinks, gets a new packaging design. The new outfit interprets the legendary taste of cola and orange in a modern way.

There are many cola-mix drinks. But only one original Spezi Cola-Orange - Spezi's revamped design lives up to this claim. By reducing the existing elements, the labels appear more modern. The font has been simplified, making it easier to read. The packaging design is now clear and tidy and, in combination with the typical Spezi colours of blue and orange, achieves a retro look.

The new look includes all packaging sizes - the practical PET bottle (0.75 L + 1.25 L) and can (0.33 L) as well as the Spezi syrup from TRi TOP, which will be launched in 2021. The new packaging will be successively introduced to the market throughout Germany.

"With the new design, the brand owner, the Riegele brewery, has succeeded in interpreting the unmistakable taste of Original Spezi in line with the spirit of the times, while at the same time ensuring a high level of recognition," says Volkmar Goebel, Head of Marketing at DrinkStar.

The beverage specialist DrinkStar distributes the original Spezi Cola-Orange in PET bottles, cans and TRi TOP Spezi syrup on behalf of the brand owner. The traditional Spezi brand is holding its own very successfully in an overall declining market for mixed cola drinks (-4.8% 2022 vs. 2021). Sales of Spezi in the practical PET bottles as well as in cans increased by a whopping 21% in 2022. The growth trend is continuing: From January to May 2023 alone, sales are once again significantly higher than the previous year, with an increase of 23%.

Spezi has been around since 1965; the cola-orange lemonade was invented by the Augsburg brewery Riegele. Riegele and its licensed partner breweries will also adopt the new design.
