Whether as an after-work beer or in a convivial gathering in the beer garden, the Helle is becoming increasingly popular in Germany. Slightly less bitter than the classic Pilsner and thus particularly drinkable, it appeals to beer connoisseurs and newcomers alike. With its new Nordisch-Hell, Störtebeker Braumanufaktur is picking up on this trend and has developed a brewing specialty that stands out from its southern German competitors not only in terms of taste. "The previous Hellen all come with a similar taste and similar, strongly Bavarian appearance," Innovation Manager Jens Reineke-Lautenbacher tells us. "We are deliberately setting ourselves against this," says the brewmaster.

Störtebeker Nordisch-Hell is particularly impressive for its elegant hopping with four different varieties, which gives the balanced, fresh beer a subtle citrus note. Combined with the soft character of gently kilned pilsner malts, the result is highly drinkable with that certain something. To set another qualitative example, only raw materials from organic farming are used in the brewing process. "We have been expanding our organic range for years and are pleased to be able to close another gap in the range with Nordisch-Hell," Reineke-Lautenbacher continues.

Störtebeker Nordisch-Hell celebrated its grand premiere in a public online tasting on March 25. The curious can find the brewing specialty now in the Stralsund brewery market, at selected retailers in northern Germany, or in the online store.

Nordisch-Hell - that's how it tastes:
Gently kilned Pilsener malts give rise to the light golden color as well as the soft character. Cold fermentation provides the refreshing drink and the fine bubbly carbonic acid. Elegant hopping with Ariana, Cascade, Select and Akoya varieties lends a subtle citrus note.
Perfect with poultry, fresh fish, salads.
