JUMA Recharge+: Berentzen Group Launches Functional Lifestyle Drink

Vivaris Getränke GmbH & Co. KG, a subsidiary of Berentzen Gruppe Aktiengesellschaft, is entering the functional beverage market with the JUMA brand. With this move, the Berentzen Group has reached a first milestone in the implementation of its new corporate strategy, BERENTZEN EVOLVE 2030.

“Functional drinks are currently among the most dynamic categories in the non-alcoholic beverage sector. We are very pleased to tap into this potential specifically for our company with JUMA,” explains Oliver Schwegmann, CEO of the Berentzen Group, adding: “With the acquisition of the JUMA brand, we are strategically expanding our portfolio in an attractive, high-growth category and thereby further expanding our non-alcoholic beverage business segment.”

At the heart of the market entry is JUMA Recharge+, a tea-based, functional hydration drink that combines electrolytes with vitamins and caffeine while being completely sugar-free. The beverage is available in two varieties: Lemon & Lime and Peach & Hibiscus.
“As an energy tea, JUMA Recharge+ is the alternative to traditional energy drinks. Our goal with functional lifestyle drinks was to deliver not only genuine functional benefits but also the promise of enjoyment that the Berentzen Group has always stood for. This is what makes JUMA unique in a competitive market,” explains Schwegmann. JUMA Recharge+ is therefore primarily aimed at an active, urban audience that wants to seamlessly integrate sports, daily life, and lifestyle.

JUMA is also an innovation on the German market when it comes to packaging: The product is bottled in an aluminum bottle with a screw cap, making it easily resealable. “The container is particularly practical to use, 100 percent recyclable like a conventional aluminum can, and subject to the same deposit,” says Schwegmann.

The JUMA brand was acquired from food42morrow GmbH. The product itself was further developed by the Berentzen Group. JUMA Recharge+ will be available in its new form starting in May 2026. The MSRP will be 1.79 euros per 380 ml.

The entry into the functional beverage market is a central component of the BERENTZEN EVOLVE 2030 corporate strategy presented in November 2025. With this strategy, the Berentzen Group aims, among other things, to further develop its brand and product portfolio, tap into new consumption occasions and locations, and capitalize on growth opportunities in attractive categories.
