Bosch Industrial Heat at Drinktec: Save energy and protect the environment – energy- efficient process heat for the beverage industry

At Drinktec 2025 in Munich, Germany, between 15th and 19th September, Bosch Industrial Heat will showcase tailor-made solutions for energy-efficient process heat in the beverage and liquid food industry. From the 100 % electrical ELSB steam boiler with a steam capacity of up to 8,300 kg/h to using waste heat and biogas, as well as condensate recovery – Bosch Industrial offers the right boiler technology for a wide range of requirements and helps companies to sustainably optimise energy-intensive processes, such as heating, pasteurising, sterilising and cleaning.
A practical example of energy-efficient process heat is the project with Lactalis. At its site in Stranraer, Scotland, the largest dairy in the world produces 32,000 tonnes of cheddar annually and processes up to 1 million litres of milk every day.
“Steam production on site is pivotal to our manufacturing process for both producing our products and also for cleaning,” explains Jon Gore, Engineering Manager at Lactalis UK & Ireland. Bosch Industrial UK replaced the existing
plant with a new UL-S steam boiler system that was custom-designed with efficiency equipment, control technology and complete water treatment. The result is almost 27 % less gas consumption, 60 % electricity savings and water
consumption reduced by 190 m3. In addition to the technical solution, Bosch also impressed with its comprehensive support.
“The project team at Bosch have been involved since day one, right from conception to final installation and
commissioning. The thing that stands out for me is the whole coordination of the project, Bosch really led in that respect,” emphasises Jon Gore.
