The Czech brewery Protivin in Bohemia keeps crayfish in special fish tanks equipped with sensors that measure the animals' body temperature and heartbeat, for example. Since crayfish react very quickly to changes in water quality, changes in the quality of the brewing water can be detected within a few minutes using the collected biodata and the brewery can react accordingly.
