Inspired by the architecture, energy, and unmistakable spirit of Havana, the redesigned bottle tells the story of its origins in a new way, while the rum itself remains unchanged. With the new design, Havana Club pays tribute to generations of Cuban craftsmanship while reflecting the rum’s exceptional quality.

A symbol of Cuban rum culture since 1978
Havana Club Añejo 7 Años was developed in 1978 by Don José Navarro, the Primero Maestro del Ron Cubano, who is considered the father of modern Cuban rum. With Havana Club Añejo 7 Años, he established a revolutionary continuous aging process that laid the foundation for the light Cuban rum style as we know it today. In this unique process, the rum is first aged, then a portion is aged again, and finally masterfully blended. This creates the characteristic depth, complexity, and consistency that define the rum.

Around the world, Havana Club Añejo 7 Años is known as “El Ron Fundacional”—the rum on which the Havana Club brand was built and that continues to define it to this day. Even as its appearance evolves, the recipe remains unchanged. In this way, Havana Club stays true to the craftsmanship that has been recognized with more than 100 international awards since 1994, making Añejo 7 Años one of the most award-winning aged rums in the world.

A Tribute to Its Hometown
The new design captures the essence of the city to which Havana Club owes its name. Radiating elements evoke the warmth of the Cuban sun and the sunsets along the Malecón, Havana’s famous waterfront promenade. Intricate embossing and the cigar-shaped label reflect the architectural diversity and distinctive character of the capital. Delicate engravings, elegant gold accents, and high-quality finishes come together to create a timeless design that tells the story of Havana and the generations of Maestros del Ron Cubano who have shaped Havana Club Añejo 7 Años for nearly five decades.

At the same time, the designation of origin D.O.P. Cuba and the age statement “Añejo 7 Años”—which confirms that the youngest rum in the blend has been aged for at least seven years—are now prominently displayed on the bottle. They stand for the authenticity and high-quality standards that distinguish genuine Cuban rum.

Asbel Morales, Maestro del Ron Cubano at Havana Club, explains: “Havana Club Añejo 7 Años embodies the soul of Cuban rum production. It was the first rum to express the depth and complexity that can only arise from the interplay of the Cuban climate, our aging traditions, and the knowledge of the Maestros del Ron Cubano, passed down through generations. With the new design, we wanted the bottle to possess the same character and charisma as the rum itself. Every detail is inspired by Havana—by its warmth, its culture, and the unmistakable spirit found in every drop.”

Niklas Milesi, Head of Brand Management at Pernod Ricard Germany: “We’re seeing that many consumers today are making more conscious choices and are increasingly interested in a product’s origin and history. The new design of Havana Club Añejo 7 Años makes this connection to its Cuban heritage even more tangible, without altering the character of the rum.”
